PROFILE: The history of Cornell Dubilier is the story of the development of the capacitor industry. The company was started just after the turn of the century by William Dubilier in Seattle, Washington. Mr. Dubilier received international acclaim when he developed a method of transmitting voice and music. He then developed the mica capacitor which revolutionized radio transmission. In 1933 the Dubilier Company joined with the Cornell Electric Manufacturing Company to form Cornell Dubilier Electric. Due to his inventive genius, Mr. Dubilier amassed over 355 patents in radio and electrical sciences by 1966. Cornell Dubilier also manufactured EMI filters, power supplies, automobile and television antennas, antenna rotors and relays. Throughout this time, Cornell Dubilier established many new factories and made numerous acquisitions to become one of the country's largest manufacturer's of capacitors. In 1983, a group of Cornell Dubilier Corporate Managers purchased the company, which was then strengthened by a revitalized organization and market focus. With its excellent reputation for quality and wide range of passive components, Cornell Dubilier continues to be a prominent global supplier in the electronics industry. Cornell Dubilier Today...
